Dear Ambitious Architect,

Are you interested in having a more profitable practice? If so, welcome to the only place on the internet (that I know of) devoted exclusively to helping the small architecture firm and solo practitioner succeed. The focus here is simple: discussion of ways for architects to make more money and use time more effectively, especially by harnessing the power of the internet and productivity tools.

This isn’t for everyone.

I’ll be the first to admit that this site isn’t for everyone. For a lot of architects money is a bad word. Most of us got here because we want to design and create. But designing and creating is hard without a profitable business.

That is what this site is about.

This is the Business Development 101 for Architects that isn’t offered in school. Wondering what social media is all about? Want to know the 5 mistakes architects make when commissioning a web site? Maybe are trying to decide if BIM is right for you. Well, tune in to discuss these topics and more. Sign up and get this blog delivered right to your inbox. As a bonus, I’ll also send you the link to the PDF version of my book, Social Media for Architects.

What Else?

The goal here is to share information that gives solo architects and boutique firms the ability to leverage the internet and technology for success. I want to empower architects to do what they love – I believe the world is a better place when architects shape the built environment. The web and new technologies offer tools that have enormous potential to magnify individual effort.

The profession is changing rapidly; it’s hard to keep up. BusinessofArchitecture.com is here to explore these changes and discover strategies for leveraging these tools for our benefit. As a solo architect or small firm owner, I know it is hard to keep up with all the new processes and technologies given the many demands on your time.

That is where BusinessofArchitecture.com comes in. I’ll spend my time researching these techniques, strategies and tools and then bring the results back to you so you can spend your time designing and doing what you love. All for free of course. Call it trying to give back a little.

About Me

Hi, I’m Enoch. I’m a registered architect and web aficionado. I started BusinessofArchitecture.com as a resource for solo architects and boutique firms. I don’t claim to be a business guru or professional writer. I’m just a guy trying to understand the place of the architect in today’s world. I’ll share what I learn along the way.

You can find out more about me by visiting my LinkedIn profile or by looking me up on the Twitter-sphere: @BusinessofArch
